I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to fellow veterans, members and their families. This scholarship, which will hopefully increase in the years to come, is a small thank you to those who have given so much.

To ensure veterans and their families have the opportunity to pursue higher education, Elias Halvorson created The Hawaii Veterans Scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to four successful applicants, veterans, members, or a military child, each receiving $500 to fund the cost of funding a private college or university in Hawaii. Elias Halvorson’s goal is to help veterans and their families find stability and success in higher education. Military families face many challenges throughout their lives; long-term moves can often be difficult for veterans and their families. Rehabilitating to civilian life also comes with its own set of challenges, and the high cost of higher education prevents some military personnel, veterans and their dependents from pursuing post-secondary education. Making college more accessible to veterans and their families is the goal of this scholarship.

The GI Bill and other federal programs provide financial assistance to veterans pursuing higher education, but often there are still additional costs not covered. . Veteran initiatives like the Hawaii Veterans Scholarship will help fill these gaps by reducing the financial burden and enabling more people who have served our country to pursue higher education and complete their college education. with less debt.

When you need help with your Hawaii VA loan, it is important to work closely with someone who understands the process. Mortgage consultant Elias Halvorson has helped Hawaii veterans withdraw their Certificate of eligibility (COE) while guiding them in financing a new home using their veterans benefits. This dedication to veterans translates into ways to give back to the community, such as providing scholarship opportunities, among others.
