The auction is a vital fundraiser for Machon L’Yahadus, a women’s seminary in the heart of Crown Heights. The seminary serves young women from all over the world and does not turn anyone away for lack of funds.
Rabbi Shloma Majeski, dean of Machon L’Yahadus, said: “This year, our students come from the United States, Canada, Israel, France, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela and of the Dominican Republic. Each came to deepen her commitment to Judaism and discover who she is as a Jewish woman in today’s world. We give each individual the guidance they need, as well as the knowledge, skills, and direction to build their own bright Jewish future. We receive weekly calls from young women who want to apply for an upcoming semester or participate for a few weeks through our Taste of Yeshiva program. They are often hesitant when asking about tuition fees, and for many this is the deciding factor whether or not they will come. But we put them at ease by assuring them that we never refuse a student for financial reasons.
“We created this Chinese auction,” Rabbi Majeski continued, “to give our community the opportunity to partner with us; to give our current and future students a chance to live a life steeped in the beauty of Torah, Mitzvot and Chassidus. In the Zechus of your participation and Tzedakah, may Hashem Bench each of you with infinite blessings in all areas of your life!
The designs will take place during the Boutique Auction event, which will take place on Motzoei Shabbos Chof Hey Adar I, February 26, 2022 at the United Lubavitcher Yeshiva Hall, 570 Crown Street.
