Applications for 2022 Corvias Foundation scholarships open to military spouses and children of active duty members
IS GREENWICH, RI – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) –Corvias Foundation, a private charity founded by Jean Picerne to support educational opportunities for military families, today launched its applications for the 2022 scholarships available to military spouses and children of active duty members.
The Military Spouse and Military Dependent Student Scholarships provide financial support to recipients who pursue higher education. Recipients of the Military Dependent Student Bursary will each receive a four-year college scholarship worth up to $ 50,000. Recipients of the Military Spouse Bursary will each receive $ 5,000. These funds can be used for any expense that will help the individual graduate, including gasoline for transportation, a new computer, tuition, or child care.
“The Corvias Foundation was founded to enable dependents of the military, those facing enormous and unique obstacles in life, to pursue their educational goals and provide them with the necessary resources and support,” said Picerne. âEach year, as we welcome a new class of scholarship recipients, I have the privilege of welcoming them into the Corvias Foundation community and witnessing their journey. I can’t wait to do it with the 2022 class.
College students and alumni of the Army Dependent Scholarship receive support beyond the dollar in the form of career counseling through CV workshops, interview preparation, and various opportunities to attend events and leadership conferences. In addition, they have access to internships, mentoring and volunteer opportunities through the Corvias Foundation network.
âFor 17 years, we have witnessed the enormous and unique challenges, including the deployments of parents or spouses and the frequent moves, that dependents face,â said Maria Montalvo, Executive Director of the Corvias Foundation. âThrough these scholarships, we aim to reduce financial burdens and offer our recipients the opportunity to continue their studies and pursue their professional goals. We are delighted to continue these scholarship programs and to offer determined and motivated individuals the support they deserve. ”
To date, the Corvias Foundation has awarded more than $ 15 million in scholarships to military spouses and children of active duty members.
