COVID-19 cases rise in some schools and senior centers – Medford News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News

The latest weekly report from the Oregon Health Authority showed a notable increase in the number of Rogue Valley students infected with COVID-19.

The report also saw more coronavirus cases in nursing homes and retirement communities.

Schools and senior communities were just two entities documented statewide in the OHA’s Weekly Outbreak Report, which presented data on COVID-19 infection from Jan. 10-16. Other entities included in the report were workplaces and daycares.

Here are the numbers for K-12 schools in Jackson and Josephine counties:

Abraham Lincoln Elementary School (four students, one adult), Allen Dale Elementary School (three students), Armadillo Technical Institute (one student), Ashland High School (seven students), Ashland Middle School (three students), Applegate School (six students , one adult), Bellview Elementary School (one student), Cascade Christian Middle School (one student), Cascade Christian High School (four students), Central Medford High School (one adult), Central Point Elementary (six students), Crater High School (21 students, one adult);

Eagle Point High School (six students, one adult), Eagle Rock Elementary (one student), Evergreen Elementary (six students, one adult), Fleming Middle School (six students, one adult), Fort Vannoy Elementary School (10 students, one adult), Fruitdale Elementary (three students, one adult), Gladiola High School (one student), Grants Pass High School (34 students, one adult), Griffin Creek Elementary (eight students, one adult), Hedrick Middle School (13 students , five adults), Hanby Middle School (five students, three adults), Helman Elementary (four students), Hidden Valley High School (10 students, two adults), Highland Elementary School (four students), Hillside Elementary School (one student, one adult), Hoover Elementary School (19 students, two adults), Howard Elementary School (10 students, two adults);

Illinois Valley High School (two students, one adult), Jackson Elementary School (seven students, one adult), Jacksonville Elementary School (10 students, four adults), Jefferson Elementary School (three students, four adults), Jewett Elementary (two students ), Kennedy Elementary School (three students), Lincoln Savage Middle School (five students, one adult), Lone Pine Elementary School (nine students, one adult), Logos Public Charter School (two students, one adult), Lorna Byrne Middle School (two students, three adults);

Madrona Elementary School (one student, two adults), Mae Richardson Elementary School (five students, one adult), Manzanita Elementary (four students, two adults), McLoughlin Middle School (seven students), Medford Montessori School (one student), North Medford High School (24 students, two adults), North Middle School (six students), North Valley High School (seven students, three adults), Oak Grove Elementary School (five students, one adult);

Orchard Hill Elementary (one student, two adults), Parkside Elementary (four students), Patrick Elementary School (one student), Phoenix Elementary School (six students, one adult), Phoenix High School (two students, five adults), Redwood Elementary School (three students), Riverside Elementary School (five students, one adult), Rogue River Elementary School (three adults), Rogue River Junior/Senior High School (22 students, one adult), Rogue Valley Adventist School (one student), Roosevelt Elementary School (14 students, two adults), Ruch Outdoor Community School (seven students, two adults);

Sacred Heart Catholic School – Medford (one student, two adults), Sams Valley Elementary School (two students), Scenic Middle School (three students, three adults), Shady Cove School (one student), South Medford High School (17 students) , Southern Oregon Success Academy (three students), South Middle School (11 students, one adult), St. Anne Catholic School (one adult), St. Mary’s School (30 students, two adults);

Talent Elementary School (two students, two adults), Talent Middle School (12 students, two adults), Table Rock Elementary School (five students), The Valley School of Southern Oregon (two students), The Siskiyou School (three students), Walker Elementary School (three students), Washington Elementary School (three students, two adults), White Mountain Middle School (four students, four adults), Wilson Elementary School (three students, three adults), Willow Wind K-8 (four students );

No workplace in Jackson County has reported an active outbreak. In Josephine County, outbreaks have been reported at the following workplaces: American Medical Response (17 cases), Rogue Valley Youth Correctional Facility (eight cases), Grants Pass Toyota (seven cases), Heirloom Organics (six cases) , Walmart Supercenter-Grants Pass (58 cases).

According to the report, the following care facilities, senior living communities, and congregate living settings in Jackson County were experiencing outbreaks of COVID-19: Lakeland Senior Living (nine cases), Hearthstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (12 cases) , Brookdale Ashland (four cases, one death), Avamere at Three Fountains (11 cases), Avamere at Waterford Assisted Living Facility (four cases, one death), Bonaventure of Medford Assisted Living (five cases), Skylark Assisted Living (three cases ), The Springs at Veranda Park (three cases), Farmington Square – Medford (12 cases), Rogue Valley Manor (13 cases), Avamere Health Services of Rogue Valley (12 cases), The Springs at Anna Maria (seven cases), Pioneer Village (six cases).

The following facilities in Josephine County have also had outbreaks of COVID-19: Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (18 cases), Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center (seven cases), Regency Care of Rogue Valley (18 cases), Countryside Village (four cases), Cascades de Grants Pass – The Village (three cases).

No Jackson County child care center has had an active outbreak in this report. In Josephine County, the Playground Early Learning Center (three cases) was the only such facility with an active outbreak.
