THE DESCRIPTION

The Director of Children’s Ministry (DCM) is a committed Christian who is passionate and skilled in sharing the gospel with the children of our church by overseeing ministry programs for newborns through 6th grade. St. Alban’s is a rapidly growing church in a vibrant and friendly city. The average Sunday attendance is 350, with over 50 children in our congregation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and oversee children’s ministry:
    • Hire, manage and schedule workers for our nursery (Sundays, 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday evenings)
    • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for Sunday School classes for different age groups (10:15 a.m.); also, select and implement the Sunday School curriculum.
    • Planning and Teaching in the Children’s Chapel (Sundays at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.)
  • Host an Annual Summer Bible Camp for a Week in June
  • Organize special events: Easter egg hunt, autumn festival and Wednesday evening Advent/Lenten activities
  • Create a fun, safe, and Christ-filled children’s ministry
  • Must be present on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A deep love for the Gospel and a love for sharing the message of Christ with children
  • Experience in children’s ministry or early childhood education
  • Communicates concepts in a child-friendly manner
  • Collaborative, professional, teachable, organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
