Geneva schools announce the Commended Students in 2022 scholarship program

Geneva High School Principal Gregory Baker announced that Enya Shen, Sally Young and Nicholas Caster have been named Recommended Students in the National Scholarship Program 2022. A letter of praise from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which runs the program, was presented by the principal to these academically talented seniors.

About 34,000 recommended students across the country are recognized for their outstanding academic promise. While they will not continue in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Competition, the recommended students ranked among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by passing the scholarship qualifying test. “Those who are nominated as recommended students have demonstrated exceptional potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for the NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; Recognizing their achievements, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital for the advancement of educational excellence in our country. We hope this recognition will help expand their educational opportunities and encourage them to continue their quest for academic success.
