Janice E. Reynolds, 75, of Mt. Jewett, Pa., Died on Saturday, November 13 at Lutheran Home in Kane, following a long battle with leukemia.
Jan was born in West Valley, NY on February 20, 1946, daughter of Irwin and Geraldine Ahrens.
She graduated from West Valley Central High School and Bryan Stratton College as a paralegal. As a lifelong learner, she was currently taking the United Methodist Studies course at Methesco Seminary in Dover, Ohio. For the past six years, she has served as the pastor of the East Kane United Methodist Church. Prior to that, she was also a pastor of the Stoneham United Methodist Church. For 29 years she was an administrative assistant at Kane United Methodist Church, serving five different pastors and retired in November 2020. Jan was a member of the choirs of the United Methodist churches of Tiona, Clarendon and Kane. She loved the outdoors. Mainly camping, hiking and kayaking. She and Marty loved to go camping in the Adirondacks every year. Jan was a caring and compassionate person who loved the Lord Jesus and his churches.
On February 21, 1999, she married Marty Reynolds who survives. She had three sons from a previous marriage. Jon Stanley (Misty), Jason Stanley (Diana) and Jeff Stanley (Danielle). She had three grandchildren who were hers and nine other children from Marty’s side who called her grandmother. She is also survived by a brother, Ed Ahrens
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Lynn Ahrens.
The friends will be received at East Kane United Methodist Church, 6703 Route 321, Kane, Pa. On Friday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at which time a memorial service will be held, with Reverend Pat Lennox officiating.
The family suggests donations in memory of Jan be made to East Kane United Methodist Church.
