Post is offering scholarships up to $5,000 each

POMEROY, Ohio — Beginning this year, the Drew Webster American Legion Post #39 will award up to three scholarships, $5,000 each, to qualified area college and high school students who have been accepted into a college or university program.

Members and their immediate families will receive these scholarships first, but other veterans and their families may also be considered, according to a Post press release.

Scholarship applications can be picked up at American Legion Post #39 and will also be given to school counselors for distribution.

Completed forms must be received by mail 39 no later than April 19. Applications received after April 19 will not be considered.

“We also request that the scholarship be utilized by December 1, 2022,” the press release read. “After this date, the scholarship may be canceled and declared null and void.”
