Students engage in service projects as part of Mother Cabrini’s Giving Day – The News Herald

In only its fourth year, organizers of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Schools’ Annual Mother Cabrini Giving Day are hoping for some good surprises.

After all, they’ve gotten used to pleasant surprises on this day of giving back and giving back to the community.

Last year, the 24-hour online, social media-driven effort – named after their patroness’ birthday – raised more than $116,000 and also inspired a $50,000 donation. from a single donor for the Cabrini scholarships.

Each year, the entire Cabrini campus, along with the extended community of friends, families, alumni, parents of alumni, and other supporters of Catholic education, join forces for the benefit of Cabrini schools.

The school received 722 gifts in a single day last year and hopes to significantly increase those numbers.

“It is now difficult to ask people to give more, and that is why we are asking our supporters to ask their family, friends, colleagues and loved ones to join the effort for our school and to invite more people to give,” Ryan said. John, Principal of Schools. “Anyone who sees the value of an education that joyfully leads our young people to truth and knowledge should be moved to give on November 11. Together, we will keep our Cabrini Catholic School strong and accessible to any family seeking the Downriver’s school of choice for their children.”

Donations made on November 11 remain at Allen Park Catholic School and help with tuition assistance, renovation of learning spaces, installation of cutting-edge classroom technology, support for arts and more.

Donation day begins at 12 p.m. Friday and runs until 11:59 p.m. Event organizers say they expect the campus to bustle with activity as students engage in service projects throughout the school day in honor of Mother Cabrini. Students will also be involved in fun events that will begin when certain donation goals are met.

Members of the public are invited to join in the donations and watch the day’s activities unfold. The progress of the day’s effort can be followed on the Cabrini Alumni Facebook page or on cabrinidayofgiving.org, the official Mother Cabrini Giving Day website.
