Two students, teacher at Meadow Bridge Elementary School receive scholarship to space camp

MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WVNS) – Cory Cooper and Aubrielle Williams have been chosen as the winners of the Space Camp Scholarship Failing is Not an Option.

For the first time ever, a teacher from Meadow Bridge, Ms. Cammy, also received a scholarship to attend the Space Camp For Educators.

Grades 3, 4 and 5 from Meadow Bridge Elementary School gathered in the gymnasium to hear presentations from Lt. Col. Russ Dufford, himself a Meadow Bridge alumnus, and other aerospace professionals on the Friday 19 November 2021.

“The problem with this school is that usually when I ask the questions these kids get more correct engineering questions than a lot of other high schools I speak with in other states,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Dufford.

“The sky is the limit for these guys and that’s what we want them to understand,” added manager Mark Gladwell. “Whatever their dream, we want them to pursue it.”

Lt. Col. Dufford and his family founded the Failing Is Not An Option Space Camp Scholarship in 2015, and sponsored trips to space camp for Meadow Bridge elementary students each year. since the start of the stock market.

Two other students were also selected as alternate winners, if Cooper or Williams could not attend space camp.
